About MBC&S
Maryland Bible College and Seminary is a service to the Body of Christ by providing students with a biblical education that supplies the spiritual and educational resources to prepare and train others for their spiritual vocation and profession.
We believe that the premise to truth, knowledge, and wisdom is found in and imparted through the inspired Word of God. The Word communicates the reason for the school's existence, its organization, direction, content of its curriculum, and its motivation for service.
The Word also communicates that man is made in the image of God for the expressed purpose of knowing and glorifying Him. Man cannot know or honor God because he is a sinner by nature and choice. But God graciously gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to save a lost humanity. Those who respond to His saving grace receive the Holy Spirit who fills, blesses, and illuminates truth to the believer.
One cannot have wisdom apart from knowing God. The inspired Word of God declares Him to be the truth and depositary of all wisdom and knowledge. He is our provision for life and conduct, and He is our Master Teacher. He has gifted and trained teachers to communicate divine viewpoint and its relationship to the natural sciences and one's self-image. An individual's success in life is dependent upon a healthy respect for God, receipt of the revelation of His grace, and obedience to His Word. The College and the ministry from which it springs are distinctive in their teaching of the revelation and application of grace.
The choice of curriculum, methods, and materials is based upon biblical principles with the resultant purpose of doing the work of the church. These choices hold in view the appropriateness of subjects, the maturity and readiness of learners, and the kind and extent of expectation. Instructors teach and test to approximate the actual demands and decisions encountered in one's life and ministry.
For disciples only
Quote form Graduation Breakfast by P. Schaller, June 2008
What is at the heart of MBC&S is that we have found Christ. When we find Christ, we find the Word of God. When we read it, we read it as objective truth. Then we experience it in our obedience and then we rejoice and jump up and down with the following things:
- No. 1, MBC&S is a school where death is dealt to our natural thinking.. A school where the Word of God challenges my natural mind. Where the Word of God is now not allowing my flesh to exert itself in the work of God.
- No. 2, We are a school where risking life is right. Not security and safety, but risk. We go to the cross. There is a risk there.
- No. 3, We have the school of devotion. I love MBC&S because it is a school where we have the Holy Spirit moving with us in the classroom, in the prayer meeting, in the faith, in the outreach, in the obedience of God.
- No. 4, Then it is a school of faith where we learn how to live by faith. The world is outside our gates ridiculing, mocking, proud, and arrogant. But we are believing and embracing the truth.
We have the old landmarks of men of God and women of God who have gone before us and have made an impact in Europe, England, Africa, China, Asia, Southeast Asia and South America. Because when a person knows God, then they have an impact. We find that Christ is the supremacy of everything. We learn that Christ is the answer to life in our youth and in our old age. We find that Christ can build a school, change a life.

Brief History
MBC&S originates from the evangelical ministry of Pastor Carl H. Stevens. As an indigenous ministry, MBC&S exists under the spiritual covering of Greater Grace World Outreach. This unique and dynamic relationship allows over 300 of MBC&S students to correlate education in the classroom with training on the field. Graduates often co-labor with GGWO and other local churches in church planting, and assist 75 affiliated churches in missions, leadership training, evangelistic outreach, and Christian day schools.
Doctrinal Statement
The Bible: The Holy Scriptures are verbally, plenarily, and inerrantly inspired by God. They are the authoritative guide for all Christian understanding, life and ministry.
God: There is but one God eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead shares the same eternal attributes.
Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ, God's Son, is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and He lived a sinless life. He died, shedding His blood in His substitutionary death for sinners. He was buried, arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He is the only way to God the Father.
The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the giver of life. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and unites man to Jesus Christ by faith. The Holy Spirit seals and indwells all believers. It is impossible to be saved and not have the Holy Spirit.
Man: Man was created in the image and likeness of God. It was by man's free volition that he disobeyed God, incurring physical and spiritual death. Each human being is born with a sinful nature. Because of this, every person is in need of salvation from God's judgment and from eternal damnation in Hell.
Salvation: Salvation is a gift from God. Salvation was accomplished by Christ's substitutionary death. All who believe in Him are justified by grace through faith. The believer's salvation is eternally secure.
Spiritual Baptism: The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is granted to all who believe in Jesus Christ. This occurs in each believer at the moment of salvation. Every believer is baptized into the body of Christ (the church) when he or she believes in Christ.
The Great Commission: The fulfillment of the Great Commission is the responsibility of all believers. Believers are to pray to the Lord of the Harvest that He would send forth laborers into the world to preach the Gospel and to plant churches.
The church: The church is the body and the bride of Christ. It is dedicated to the worship and service of God and to the observance of the sacraments or ordinances of water Baptism and the Lord's Supper. The primary task of the church in all ages is to teach all nations and to make disciples through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.
Final Events: Jesus Christ will return to rapture His church. Immediately following this event will be the seven-year tribulation period. At the conclusion of this event Christ will return to the earth and establish His 1,000 year reign. At the end of Christ's 1,000 year reign, Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire. The next event will be the Great White Throne judgment of the unsaved. Christ will then establish New Heavens and a New Earth. This will be the consummation of all things.
